PRACTICE CLOSURE -
PATIENTS TO RE-REGISTER AT ANOTHER PRACTICE ASAP
Sadly the recent attempts to resolve the premises issue of New Inn Surgery have not resulted in a positive outcome.
It has been agreed between the Practice and the CGG that the closure process cannot be reversed, as the future of the practice at London Road premises cannot be assured.
New Inn Surgery will proceed to close on 22nd November 2019.
All patients should refer to the letter they received from the CCG in September and should re-register at an alternative GP Practice, as soon as possible.
New Inn will be changing its appointment system and you should be aware that advanced pre-bookable appointments will no longer be available. Instead a limited number of book on the day appointments will be available.
We urge patients to re-register as soon as possible. If you do not, then after 22nd November you will be left without a GP and unable to see a doctor. You need to be registered with a GP before you can make an appointment at any GP practice. Please refer to the letter you received from the CCG which outlines the process required and list of practices to consider.
The CCG is holding drop in sessions to help patients complete the re-registering process. If you would like help or to know more about your choices please come along to these sessions which are taking place at New Inn Surgery on:
Tuesday 5th November @ 16:00 to 19:00
Wednesday 6th November @9:00 to 12:00
We are so sorry that the practice is closing but every effort has been made by all parties to find a solution
Thank you for your support and understanding.
New Inn Surgery currently not accepting new patients
The practice regrets that it is not at present able to register new NHS patients.
This decision has been taken in order to maintain our high levels of care to our existing patients. The practice has seen substantial growth in patient numbers over the past year and this has placed an increasing strain on our current services. Patient numbers have reached beyond our expected levels and this has meant our resources are being stretched to capacity.
We are not able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.
You can find the details of other local GP practices by going to www.nhs.uk/service-search/ and searching for a GP service using your postcode. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
NEW...More choice of Extended Access GP Appointments
Available to New Inn Surgery and all Guildford & Waverley patients at either Fairlands Practice or Binscombe Surgery. Weekday evenings from 6pm to 8pm, Saturdays 8am to 12pm Sundays 10am to 2pm.
New Inn Surgery has joined with other practices in the Guildford & Waverley locality to provide extra routine GP appointments. This is in response to increasing pressures on GP services and is part of the national ‘Extended Access’ programme being introduced across the country. The programme will increase capacity in General Practice by offering availability to the public 7 days per week and provide patients with the additional choice of being able to see a health practitioner on any weekday evening and at weekends. The service has been commissioned from ProCare Health Ltd by Guildford & Waverley CCG.

Ordering repeat prescriptions
Please ensure you have contacted the Surgery in plenty of time to order your repeat prescriptions. Don't put your health at risk by leaving it to the last few days before you run out of medication. Our staff are here to help you but it is unreasonable to expect them to arrange your prescription at very short notice.
We require 48 hours notice before you can collect your prescription.
New CQC 'Good' Inspection Report
A recent visit by CQC on 20th October 2015 rated the Surgery overall as 'Good'. Once again CQC rated our services 'Good' in respect of being caring and found 'significant improvements' have been made in the other inspected areas. For further information on our recent new CQC Report, please click on the following links:
It is important to us that we are able to communicate and provide information in ways that suits the needs of all our patients. Go to our 'Accessibility Information' page to find out more about how we are able to provide information to you in various accessible formats.
Named GP for all patients
All patients now have a named GP responsible for their care. You are still able to see the doctor of your choice but your named GP will always be informed about your care. If you would like more information please speak to a member of the Reception team.
For patients unable to attend during normal surgery hours, the practice is open until 19:15hrs on Mondays and until 19:00hrs on Wednesdays. These are pre-booked 15 minute nurse led appointments and reception is also open for enquiries.
Patient participation group
The surgery has a patient participation group which meets quarterly. If you would like to be involved, please register your interest under "Have You Say"... Patient Group.
In addition to ordering repeat prescriptions or booking an appointment online you can also now request access to your 'Detailed Care Record' by registering for online Patient Access.
