Extra GP Appointments are now available in the evenings and at weekends for Guildford & Waverley patients from 6pm to 8pm weekday evenings, 8am to 12pm on Saturdays and 10am to 2pm on Sundays. See below for full details.
New Inn Surgery has joined with other practices in the Guildford & Waverley locality to provide extra routine GP appointments. This is in response to increasing pressures on GP services and is part of the national ‘Extended Access’ programme being introduced across the country. The programme will increase capacity in General Practice by offering availability to the public 7 days per week and provide patients with the additional choice of being able to see a health practitioner on any weekday evening and at weekends. The service has been commissioned from ProCare Health Ltd by Guildford & Waverley CCG.
What you need to know:
You can choose to attend either location. Appointments do not take place at New Inn Surgery.
Appointments are for routine matters and are pre-bookable only. There is NO emergency service available.
It is very likely that you will not see your regular GP but instead see another GP from a different surgery.
You must consent to your medical history being made available to the consulting GP by allowing them to link to your records held on our own secure medical computer system.

Information Sharing
Before you can book an appointment for the service you will be asked by the receptionist if you agree for your electronic medical record to be viewed by the consulting GP that you will see. We need your agreement to be able to book the appointment for the reasons given below.
To enable the Extended Access service, information sharing agreements have been put in place between all local GP Practices (including New Inn Surgery) and ProCare. These allow those working in the service to see your personal GP Practice’s medical record electronically during the consultation. By accessing your medical record the consulting GP is better informed about you and this allows them to give you the best advice and treatment in a safe and timely manner.
The details of your extended access consultation will be recorded on the computer system by the GP and this is then sent electronically back to your doctor at New Inn Surgery so they know about your appointment. Both New Inn Surgery and the service use the same medical computer system called EMIS and the transfer of your information is seamless, protected and confidential.
All GP practices and ProCare adhere to best practice with regard to information sharing and confidentiality. You can therefore feel assured when you agree to information sharing in order to utilise this service.
